Dr. Barnes is a woman of God who has a heart of compassion for women that have been called by God to serve in t
he kingdom as pastors, evangelists and teachers.
Her life has been focused on ministry since being called to minister at the age of thirteen. She obtained a B.A. in
History from Shaw University, a Masters of Divinity from Shaw School of Divinity, and a Doctorate of Ministry from
Beacon University.
Currently she serves as pastor of Zion Temple COGOP along with her husband, Bishop Alonzo Barnes. She is the
founder and CEO of Women in Ministry Support Group, Inc. Dr Barnes is a member the N C Ministerial Licensure
board of the Church of God of Prophecy. In 2007-2008, she was honored by Madison Whos Who of Professional. In
addition to these responsibilities, she is also an educator, a speaker, and a counselor.
Dr. Barnes is excited about the work of the Lord. Since she has already experienced the awesomeness of God, she
knows that with God she can always Expect the Unexpected.
Her mentors are her mothers, the late Daisy Baines & the late Eva Gilmore, who were both pastors.
Her hobbies involve reading, writing, and traveling. Her favorite music is gospel and jazz.
