A Gift of Love
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16 NIV)
1. For God so loved the world and as a result of that love, He gave.
2. What did he give? His Son
3. His Son took on humanity to the extent that he gave his body as a sacrifice.
4. For what purpose: to bring humankind back into a right relationship with God to receive eternal life.
What a great time to be a godly woman depicting the attributes of God’s love, care and concern that resonate within you. Although it is understood that God has no gender, in Biblical Theology, He is mostly depicted as a father figure and Jesus as a son (both males). Throughout history various cultures have defined the role of the male and that of the female. It seems to me that in the 16th verse of St. John and the 3rd chapter, however, God’s behavior depicts both genders. The feminine disposition here is that of a nurturer; one who cares, protects, supports, encourages, trains and develops. His target is you and me.
As a woman, God’s favored you with the character of a nurturer. He gives you his creation to care for, to protect, support, encourage, train, and develop. This festive and holy time is a great opportunity to manifest the nurturing character of God’s love. God so love that He gave. Being a godly woman you can so love that you give. You are the one who sets the atmosphere in the home. You can give off an odor of love that covers everything you touch and decorates everything you say.
To all clergywomen, I challenge you to slow down your pace during this festive and holy season to enjoy your special quality and character as a nurturer. Display your gifting in your home.
Merry Christmas
